Dance has been my main outlet for creating since I was 3 years old. It allows me to
express myself in a way that I can only do through dance. Sometimes I struggle with words and
it’s easier for me to work through my emotions through my art. I believe that art is one of the
most impactful things we can experience. Art allows for endless creativity and ways to tell
stories. Dance is important in this world because it is an outlet for people, like myself, to express
themselves without using words. Dance also produces some of the most thoughtful and impactful
people that I have come across in my life and if I had never joined the dance community, I would
have never met the humans that make me who I am today. Dance is special because it’s so
diverse that anyone can do it. Dance can be social and bring people together; like at parties,
clubs, weddings, school dances, on the streets, or even in our houses. Dance is such a special art
form that connects people and allows us to express ourselves and be heard without having to use
our voices.
